where it was trying to grow,
untouched and virgin,
under the sunshine,
smelling the earth.
as each one of them touched
the untouched, the virgin,
and they laid it within a swarm
of the similar ones.
still lying amongst the others,
the tender one, the adolescent,
waiting and wondering
about where it’d go next.
from amongst the swarm,
and with frequent touches of water
they exposed it, its leaves,
and the body within.
they handed it over
to someone who clutched it
in one of her hands,
almost strangling the breathing one.
of the people pushing her way in,
suffocating it, and breaking
a tender one from its body,
the exposed body of the adolescent one.
and cry over the broken one
as she handed it over
to another one, who clutched it and hurled it,
alomost killing the tender one.
under the feet of the Goddess,
breathless and broken,
trying hard to breathe
amongst the other strangled ones.
broken and shaken,
it was picked up by yet another one
along with others, who suffocated it more,
ready to be hurled into the unknown one.
and it’s floating in the dark
shaken yet tranquil,
listening to the lullaby
of the waves.
You may or may not understand what I’ve tried to write. You may get confused about what I’ve tried to write. But I know what I’ve written and I dunno why I’ve written it!
